Azelio won its first order for TES.POD® in December. The company thus reached a major milestone in the commercialisation of its energy storage system. The order is from ALEC Energy, which will install Azelio's technology in one of the world's largest solar parks, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex in Dubai, where it will be part of a mini-grid together with inter alia solar panels and batteries. This will provide renewable energy 24 hours a day, which is an important step in meeting the climate transition. Azelio began installation on site on 20 December.

Azelio and Svea Solar have signed a MoU to develop projects using Azelio's long-duration energy storage, TES.POD®, coupled to PV systems. The collaboration will span over at least 3 projects in 2021, 5 projects in 2022, and 10 projects in 2023. A total of 8 MW of installed power and more than 100 MWh in equivalent storage capacity.

Based on a directed share issue of 12.3 million new shares, the company received proceeds of approximately SEK 270 million before issue expenses. Several new Swedish and international institutional investors as well as certain existing shareholders subscribed for shares in the issue. The proceeds will be used to finance the company's ongoing operations and the continued industrialisation of Azelio's Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and Stirling-based electricity production technology, with the objective of reaching industrial volume production in 2021.
