What is CDP and why does it matter?
CDP runs the world's leading environmental disclosure system. In 2025, CDP assessed over 23,100 companies, cities, states, and regions on their climate, forest, and water-related actions. CDP scores measure how well companies understand and manage their environmental impacts. The methodology evaluates disclosure, awareness, management, and leadership across key environmental issues.
High scores reflect strong governance, ambitious targets, and credible action plans aligned with global frameworks such as the Paris Agreement, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Key criteria behind the scores
Climate:
- Science-based emissions reduction targets
- Transparent reporting of Scope 1, 2, and material Scope 3 emissions
- Integration of climate risks into governance and strategy
- Demonstrated progress toward decarbonization
Forests:
- Deforestation-free commitments and supply chain traceability
- Sustainable forest management practices
- Governance of forest-related issues
Water:
- Basin-level water risk assessments and resilience planning
- Targets for water efficiency and quality
- Governance of water-related issues
"Together with our customers and partners, we want to ensure that our products create value throughout their life cycle. We offer sustainable alternatives to fossil-based products, backed by validated data. For investors, CDP leadership signals strong risk management, regulatory readiness, and long-term value creation in a rapidly evolving ESG landscape," Sami Lundgren concludes.
