Summary

  • Digital Workforce reported a strong Q3 revenue growth of 44% to 7.9 MEUR, surpassing the forecast of 7.5 MEUR, driven by Continuous Services and acquisitions.
  • Despite the revenue growth, profitability was weaker than expected, with EBITDA at 0.2 MEUR and operating profit slipping into a loss due to significant growth investments, including doubling the UK sales team.
  • The company maintained its full-year guidance, expecting revenue growth of 27–37% and adjusted EBITDA of 7–13% of revenue, though scalability challenges suggest profitability may remain at the lower end of this range.
  • Strategic investments in regulated sectors, particularly in the UK and US healthcare markets, are expected to drive future international growth but currently limit earnings scalability.

Digital Workforce published its Q3 business review this morning, which showed very strong revenue growth but weaker profitability than we expected. Revenue growth beat our estimates, supported by excellent momentum in Continuous Services and acquisitions. On the other hand, heavy investments in growth, such as doubling the UK sales organization, depressed earnings significantly more than we expected. The company reiterated its full-year guidance, so while the report reinforces confidence in the revenue growth story, uncertainty remains regarding the scaling of growth into earnings.

Revenue exceeded our estimates, driven by Continuous Services

Digital Workforce's revenue continued its exceptionally strong performance, and the 44% growth to 7.9 MEUR exceeded our forecast of 7.5 MEUR. Growth was driven in particular by the company’s strategically important Continuous Services business, whose remarkable 59% jump from the previous year positively surprised us (forecast 40%). The good 23% growth in Professional Services also supported top-line performance (forecast 33%). Organic growth was also strong (10%), which is quite positive. In addition to organic growth, the figures received a strong boost from the Front AI business acquisition completed in July, which has expanded the customer base and cross-selling opportunities in the field of AI agents. In addition, inorganic growth was supported by the e18 acquisition carried out last year. The company reported success especially in the UK and US healthcare markets, where the productized care pathway solution in particular has sparked customer interest. Digital Workforce has clearly invested in this market in recent years, and we expect this to drive international growth in the coming years.

Front-loaded growth investments ate into earnings

Although we consider the revenue growth to have been excellent, it did not scale to the bottom line in Q3 as we expected. Both the reported EBITDA of 0.2 MEUR and the operating profit, which slipped into a loss, were clearly below our forecasts. Profitability was weighed down by strong investments in growth, as the company reported, among other things, doubling its UK commercial team to support its NHS expansion. We estimate that these front-loaded recruitments masked the margin support provided by volume growth in Continuous Services, highlighting the delay in scaling during the current strong investment phase

Growth investments limit scalability, full-year guidance remains unchanged

The company reiterated its guidance for the current year, stating that "revenue is expected to grow by 27–37% in 2026 compared to 2025" and "adjusted EBITDA is expected to be 7–13% of revenue". Before the report, our full-year revenue growth forecast was firmly in the middle of the range provided by the company. Although the strong Q3 performance creates upward pressure on our top-line forecasts, weaker-than-expected scalability and reported investments in recruitment preliminarily suggest that adjusted profitability will remain at the very lower end of the guidance. Aggressive market capture in regulated sectors in line with the strategy apparently continues to require significant investments, which limits the earnings growth we forecast.
