Kempower announced on Tuesday changes to its global leadership team and organizational structure, aiming to boost growth and innovation. These changes are part of the implementation of the company's new strategy, which will be presented under the leadership of the new CEO, Bhasker Kaushal, at the CMD in Q2’26. The changes will strengthen select strategic areas, including technology development, software, and the service business. These changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary, as they are structured around the previous nucleus of the leadership team. We see the reorganization as a logical step for a rapidly developing and internationalizing company.
Technology, software, and services roles added to leadership team
According to Kempower's announcement, the goal of the organizational restructuring is to simplify the structure and accelerate execution. A new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) role will be established in the global leadership team, and R&D activities and product development across the board will be consolidated under this role. Sanna Otava, the Chief Operating Officer, will serve in this role on an interim basis during the recruitment process.
The company is also strengthening its software business roles by appointing Monil Malhotra, the North America President, to serve as the Digital Solutions Leader in addition to his current role. We believe that the digital business is one of the focal points of the company's new strategy. Recently, the company has sought to expand sales of its Chargeye software beyond users of its own manufactured devices.
In the service business, Katri Piirtola's appointment as Chief Services and Aftermarket Officer, announced previously, will take effect in May 2026, and she will also join the leadership team. The importance of service and spare part availability in the business is emphasized in part by customer demand. Services could enable Kempower to expand and diversify its business. After all, equipment sales have accounted for a significant portion of revenue thus far.
In addition to the above changes, Jussi Vanhanen, formerly the Chief Markets Officer, will become the Chief Product Officer (CPO), assuming responsibility for product strategy and management, as well as marketing and communications. Following these changes, Kempower's management team will consist of 8 members. These organizational changes will mainly take effect on February 1, 2026.
Strategy update expected in Q2
Kempower will present its updated strategy at the Capital Markets Day, which will take place in the second quarter of 2026. The company will likely update its financial targets alongside the new strategy. The current targets are very high, particularly regarding revenue growth, and we believe it is possible that the growth targets may need to be postponed or reduced in light of the charger market's development in recent years. Nevertheless, we anticipate favorable prospects for the company to enhance its profitability and results in the coming years, as new customer acquisition is yielding results in various geographical regions. The company has ample unused production capacity, which should enable good scalability in profitability as growth progresses.
