Springvest operates in the financial services industry. The company operates as a manager and organizer of public issues for previously unlisted growth companies. The company provides financing and opportunities to invest in unlisted shares. The operations are conducted primarily in Finland. Springvest was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Helsinki.

It probably went completely off the rails. In the peak year 2021, 33 million were raised with a compelling story, but this didn’t seem to materialize in terms of numbers. Consequently, a new funding round couldn’t be put together, so the company was liquidated.

Springvest’s funding round for KuvaSpace filled up quickly.

As a further highlight from the comment. Inside information, profit warning: Springvest lowers its outlook for 2025 as investment service revenues fall short of previous year’s record level – relative profitability is expected to remain good  Springvest Oyj’s financing rounds organized in the first half of 2025 fell short of the planned target level. The company previously expected to achieve the guided revenue level with the help of financing rounds in the latter half of the year. Previous financing rounds fell short of the planned target level, and one significant financing round under preparation will not materialize during this fiscal year, contrary to earlier forecasts. Springvest now estimates that its 2025 revenue will be lower than the 2024 level. In 2024, the company’s revenue grew by 82% from the previous year, reaching 6.9 million euros. Relative profitability is estimated to remain close to the company’s long-term targets. The company estimates that 2025 will be its second-best year in terms of revenue and period profit in its history. This estimate is based on the realized and confirmed financing rounds in 2025, and the cost structure and margins remaining at the planned level.  Updated outlook for 2025 Springvest expects investment service revenues (turnover) for 2025 to be 5.5–6.2 million euros. The operating profit margin is estimated to be close to 20%. Springvest continues to grow its share portfolio consisting of shares in unlisted growth companies. The company’s financial position and dividend-paying capacity are expected to strengthen if portfolio companies are listed or their shares are sold.  Previous outlook for 2025 (published 12 February 2025) Springvest expects full-year 2025 investment service revenues (turnover) to reach close to the record level of 2024. The expected level of investment service revenues is estimated to enable the company’s operating profit margin to settle close to the company’s long-term target (20%). Springvest continues to pursue growth in its share portfolio consisting of shares in unlisted growth companies. Springvest’s financial position and dividend-paying capacity will strengthen if its portfolio companies are listed or their shares are sold.

Hopefully, distributing shares as dividends doesn’t become a common practice. At least I myself will probably never own enough Springvest to avoid accumulating very small amounts of these shares, the sale of which is never profitable, at least at Nordnet’s prices.

Here are Antti’s and Kassu’s comments on the negative outlook. The profit warning was in line with our expectations, as we considered the previous guidance challenging to achieve after the decline in financing volumes in the early part of the year. The new guidance is in line with our forecasts and does not affect our view of the company. Antti and Frans have made a new company report after H1.  Springvest’s spring was good in terms of raised funding, albeit quieter than the strong previous year. In our view, the company’s business is on a good path despite the weaker market situation, and with the decreased valuation, we see the risk-reward ratio turning attractive. We reiterate our target price of 8.0 euros and raise our recommendation to add (previously reduce). Quoted from the report: Opportunities for exits in the portfolio However, in our estimates, the revenue streams collected from Springvest’s funding rounds and visible in the income statement represent only a small minority (estimated 10–20%) of the company’s value. The majority (estimated 80–90%) of the value, on the other hand, consists of holdings in unlisted growth companies obtained as fees from current and especially future funding rounds. Therefore, in our view, the figures reported in the review play a minor role in Springvest’s value creation, even though they indicate the pace at which Springvest acquires more holdings for its growth company portfolio. More important are successful exits, as the most significant part of the sum-of-the-parts value is realized in the exit events of the growth company portfolio. The company has not yet achieved positive exits in 2025. In light of management’s comments, the underlying reason is more a quiet market, as the company has identified several companies with exit potential in its portfolio.
