Crayonic launches biometric Badge powered by FPC technology, redefining secure identity and access

Gothenburg, Sweden & Eindhoven, Netherlands – May 6, 2026 – Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC) and Crayonic today announced the launch of the Crayonic Badge, a next-generation wearable identity wallet, powered by FPC’s fingerprint technology. The Badge is designed to deliver secure, passwordless authentication for both physical and digital access across enterprise and healthcare environments.

By combining multiple authentication factors, including fingerprint biometrics, into a single wearable device, Crayonic is enabling users to securely access systems, facilities, and sensitive data with a simple touch. Designed for demanding environments, including hospitals and critical infrastructure, the Crayonic Badge replaces traditional passwords, smart cards, and mobile-based authentication with a dedicated, secure, and easy-to-use solution.

Integrating FPC’s fingerprint sensor technology, ensures fast, reliable, and secure user verification directly on the device. Biometric authentication adds a strong layer of security to multi-factor authentication, ensuring that only authorized individuals can gain access, while maintaining a seamless user experience.

The Badge supports a wide range of use cases, from secure workstation login and digital signing to physical access control and real-time safety features such as location tracking and emergency alerts. Its ability to operate securely offline, combined with centralized device management and compliance with stringent security standards, makes it particularly well-suited for sectors where both security and efficiency are critical.

Adam Philpott, CEO of FPC, comments:
“This launch highlights the growing demand for biometric authentication beyond traditional consumer devices and into enterprise and mission-critical applications, with secure access extending across both physical and digital domains, exactly in-line with the strategic merger of FPC and Precise Biometrics. Wearable identity devices represent an exciting and fast-growing market, and our collaboration demonstrates how our technology can deliver seamless, secure authentication across facilities, systems, and data. Crayonic’s launch also underscores the expanding role of biometrics in enabling truly passwordless ecosystems, while opening new growth opportunities in high-value verticals such as healthcare and enterprise security.”

Peter Kolarov, CEO of Crayonic, added:
“Partnering with FPC allows us to deliver biometric authentication that never leaves the device – no cloud, no central database. Crayonic Badge is a multi-function wearable platform that consolidates identity verification, real-time location, and voice documentation into a single device for healthcare and other high-stakes environments. FPC's sensor technology is a critical enabler of that vision, and together we're proving that world-class security can be built entirely in Europe."
