Eezy operates in staffing and recruitment. The company offers solutions in several sectors, mainly in construction and civil engineering, electrical engineering and the manufacturing industry. In addition, HR support is offered as well as support and training in the work areas. The largest operations are found in the Nordic and Baltic markets. The company was previously known as VMP Group and is headquartered in Helsinki.

The CEO actually used a “textbook” hidden order, i.e., an iceberg order, at the 0.15 levels for a couple of days. He only managed to collect crumbs from there. As seen in the release, the day before yesterday he only managed to gather a measly 43,301 shares from that level during the entire day. Then yesterday, he indeed grabbed more in the morning and raised his bid a few times. Again using a hidden iceberg order, so he didn’t scare the price by showing the full size of his buy order. And indeed, the price rose to that 0.17 level, or +10%, due to his purchases—that’s correct. However, this happened quite early in the day, and for the rest of the day, it rallied dictated by other forces and with high volumes by Eezy’s standards, ending at a +30% increase to the 0.203 level. So, quite far from the CEO’s purchases. So, if the CEO intended to buy the amount he bought this week, he gets a clean bill of health from me regarding his execution. It would have been difficult to gather the same amount cheaper from the market by buying this week.

In a company with such low trading volume, you often have to buy a reasonably large position to clear the ask side if you aren’t prepared to wait for a long time. And there is no guarantee that the spreads won’t widen anyway, especially if there were daily announcements about exactly how many shares the CEO managed to scoop up that day. The company’s share price also dropped significantly first after the announcement of the offering (justified) and a second time when the subscription rights were detached from the shares (not so justified, in my opinion).

On the other hand, if Eezy gets anywhere near its financial targets in the coming years, the stock is still ridiculously cheap. In that case, one should sweep the board and buy everything available. It remains to be seen, then, how good or bad these deals actually were.

I was already writing a comment for this thread yesterday, and this is how far I got:  In my opinion, it’s worth selling all shares immediately if today’s trades result in flagging notifications (liputusilmoitukset) from insiders.  Yesterday morning, the CEO basically bought up all available shares and ripped the price up over 10% to the €0.17 level. Others then followed suit, but the CEO’s purchases accounted for about 1/3 of the day’s total volume. In a low-volume company, you can create spectacular price movements by buying shares recklessly without regard for price. However, “carried water does not stay in the well,” as I have been taught. I hope the CEO has a better handle on his primary job than he does on stock trading.
