Fasadgruppen’s subsidiary BYENS TAG & FACADE A/S has been commissioned by Bakkehusene to carry out roof replacements on 171 terraced houses in Bellahøj in Copenhagen. The project comprises 19,000 square metres of specially produced tiled roofs.
Built between 1921-1923, Bakkehusene was the major breakthrough for terraced housing in Denmark and one of the first housing associations founded as a precursor to the social housing movement. Today, Bakkehusene is a so-called parlamentarisk selskab, a special form of housing managed by the public housing association KAB.
The project will be carried out in close cooperation with Bakkehusene, KAB and Niels Herskind from Byens Tegnestue ApS, with a specialty in urban renewal and restoration of listed buildings. The work will begin in the summer of 2023 and will last for three years. The order value amounts to approximately DKK 64 million.
