Finnair Plc               Investor News               8 September 2026 at 9:00 a.m. EEST

Load factor and unit revenue developing well

In August, Finnair carried 1,126,000 passengers, which was 2.3% more than in August 2025. Passenger numbers grew in the European traffic, while they declined in the North Atlantic- and Domestic traffic. Flights to the Middle East were suspended on 28 February due to the heightened safety situation in the region.

Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), decreased by 4.8%. Capacity grew slightly in the European traffic, driven by new destinations, as well as by the Asian traffic. Capacity decreased significantly in the North Atlantic traffic, and slightly in the Domestic traffic. It declined to all North Atlantic destinations; however, the decline was offset somewhat by the new destination Toronto. In the Domestic traffic, capacity decreased due to a higher proportion of tag flights, i.e. frequencies to Northern Norway via Lapland. In the Middle Eastern traffic, capacity was zero. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity declined by 8.4%.

Finnair's traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), decreased by 3.1%, mainly due to the lower capacity in the Middle East and significantly lower RPK in North Atlantic traffic.

Passenger load factor (PLF) was 80.3%. It improved in the European and North Atlantic traffic in August.

Revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) increased by 12.3%, supported by an improved passenger load factor and higher yield.

Total cargo tonnes increased by 2.0%, as especially European cargo traffic saw significant growth. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres decreased by 1.0%.

In August, 81.4% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 79.8% in the comparison period.

Traffic statistics for September 2026 will be published on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
