Strong traffic figures in October - passenger demand continued to increase

In October, Finnair carried 1,147,800 passengers. which was 10.9% more than in October 2025. Passenger numbers decreased only in the domestic traffic. Flights to the Middle East were suspended on 28 February due to the heightened safety situation in the region.

Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), increased by 11.6%. Capacity grew significantly in the North-Atlantic traffic (83.3%), but also in the European and Asian traffic. Capacity decreased by 1.0% in the Domestic traffic, due to a higher proportion of tag flights. i.e. frequencies to Northern Norway via Lapland. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity increased by 4.5%.

Finnair's traffic. measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) increased by 11.7%, due to significantly higher RPKs in the North-Atlantic traffic, however, RPKs increased also in the Asian and European traffic, while the domestic RPKs decreased.

Passenger load factor (PLF) was 80.9%. The PLF decreased in the North Atlantic and Domestic traffic in October, while it increased in the Asian and European traffic.

Revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) increased by 10.9%, supported by the passenger load factor and higher yield.

Total cargo tonnes increased by 11.6%. Cargo volumes grew across all traffic areas, with particularly strong growth in North Atlantic traffic, and in European traffic. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres increased by 12.2%.

In October, 81.0% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 85.1% in the comparison period.
