Kempower and Circle K sign an extended partnership to grow DC charging offering across Europe
- Kempower and Circle K join forces to roll out fast charging across European markets
- The new agreement builds upon successful collaborations between the two companies in the Nordic region
The DC fast charging manufacturer Kempower is partnering with global convenience and mobility retailer Circle K, to bring EV charging infrastructure to Circle K sites across Europe. The new partnership agreement will bring Kempower’s infrastructure to sites across Circle K’s European markets, building on collaborations already underway in the Nordic region.
The partnership agreement will see the two companies install fast charging infrastructure across Europe over the coming years to support the rollout of publicly available EV facilities. Kempower has been selected to supply its fast charging solutions and will support Circle K in optimizing charger performance and uptime.
As part of the extended partnership starting this year, Kempower will supply infrastructure to Circle K locations in a number of its new European markets.
The new international partnership builds upon previous collaborations between Kempower and Circle K in the Nordics. This includes Circle K’s first service station solely dedicated to DC charging in Gothenburg last year, equipped with Kempower chargers. In total, there have already been over 200 Kempower charging points deployed at Circle K sites in Sweden and Norway, and the same systems shall now be deployed throughout wider Europe.
Mathias Wiklund, Chief Sales Officer at Kempower, said: “We’re incredibly honored to renew our partnership with Circle K and support them in rolling out their EV charging network across several new European markets. Reliable and user-friendly DC fast charging, which is convenient for quick charging stops, along with Circle K’s consumer friendly service station network offering, is exactly what is needed to make the transition to electric vehicles easier across Europe.”
Maria Estenstad Friis, Circle K’s Director of Network Development & Operations for the company’s e-mobility team, said: “We want to build a leading position within the EV charging market and become our customers’ preferred on the go charging destination, and the mobility partner of choice within the B2B segment. Kempower is a strong infrastructure partner for us largely because of its versatile portfolio of charging solutions, which charge up our customers' cars faster and with less grid investment, allowing us to scale our DC charging business smartly and efficiently.”
The partnership published today between Circle K and Kempower does not include binding order volumes; instead, the customer places individual orders with Kempower according to its own investment plans and needs. Kempower discloses significant orders in accordance with the company’s disclosure policy once such orders have been confirmed.
