Swiss building automation specialist SAUTER selects Qt Group to support the development of responsive and intuitive embedded user interfaces for next-generation Internet Protocol (IP)-based products
Espoo, Finland, October 20, 2026 — Ahead of Qt World Summit 2026 next week, Qt Group (Nasdaq Helsinki: QTCOM) is announcing that it has become a technology partner for SAUTER to support the development of next-generation user interfaces for its building automation solutions.
As buildings become increasingly connected and digital, SAUTER is seeing growing demand for the same level of responsiveness and intuitiveness people have come to expect from everyday digital technology like smartphones. While much of building automation operates behind the scenes, user-facing interfaces are an increasingly important part of the overall experience, from controlling room temperature and blinds to interacting with connected building services.
SAUTER has selected Qt Framework for its low-latency performance and the freedom it gives its engineering team to create and iterate on user interfaces. Qt Framework also fits naturally with SAUTER’s existing C++ and embedded expertise, allowing the team to reuse components from its existing technology stack.

With Qt Framework, the SAUTER development team moved from prototype to product in less than a year, while its quality assurance team has also adopted Qt Group’s GUI test automation tool, Squish, as part of its development process. The company says the tools have helped support a more flexible approach to developing and testing user interfaces. Looking ahead, SAUTER sees Qt Group as an important part of its approach to developing its product range.
