Kempower operates in the industrial sector. The company is a developer of charging solutions and services aimed at the automotive sector. The range mainly includes charging posts, stations, sockets, and associated electronic equipment. In addition to the main business, various after-sales services and technical support are offered. The largest operations are found in the Nordic region and parts of Europe.

I find this to be quite an interesting question. I don’t mean, for instance, how deep the moats really are for an operator that assembles chargers from components. Some additional material and — “spice” for my reflection from Inderes’ report: “A significant portion of the recent strong order growth will not be delivered until 2027, which is why the growth outlook for 2026 is not quite in line with previous expectations.” “The company provides guidance for 10-30% revenue growth for 2026 and a significant improvement in adj. operating profit. Although the company’s orders grew by as much as 39% in 2025 and the order backlog (EUR 141 million) was even 49% higher at the end of the year than a year ago, only about EUR 100 million of these will be recognized as revenue in 2026 and the rest only in 2027.” “The strong growth in orders has therefore partly been a matter of lengthening delivery times, which we estimate applies particularly to North American orders.” “The utilization rates of the company’s factories are still relatively low in 2025-26…” There is something here that “just does not compute”. Back to those questions gnawing at the back of my mind:  Could those chargers not be assembled any faster? Could that underutilized factory capacity not be put to use somehow? Why are factory utilization rates planned to be kept low while the order book is overflowing?  Just asking.

Didn’t that party sell a massive chunk of Kempower shares at around 30 euros, if I recall correctly? edit: I checked, and they sold 102 million euros worth in November 2023. Now an addition of a couple of million. A good signal, of course, that they’re adding, and they already have plenty of holdings as it is.

Someone still believes in Kempower’s future..  Owners don’t waste two mill if they thought it was going down the drain. I guess the bottom was here. If not, I’ll happily load up on more even though I had no intention of doing so before tonight

Antti Kemppi, a board member of Kempower, a manufacturer of fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles, has purchased nearly two million euros worth of Kempower shares through his company Kempinvest, according to a Kempower stock exchange release. Antti Kemppi serves as the CEO of Kempinvest. According to the stock exchange release, the purchases took place between February 12 and 13. In total, Kempinvest purchased 162,963 Kempower shares during that period. According to Kempower’s shareholder register, following the transaction, Kempinvest would now own approximately 0.9 percent of Kempower’s shares and votes, provided no other major changes in the company’s ownership structure have occurred during February. This would make it the company’s fourth-largest owner.

Insiders are buying more heavily. I don’t think one can conclude anything other than that Tesla manages with lower amperage. That’s why the smaller transformer. Whatever the outcome in price or anything else, the customer is still installing more Kempowers than Tesla chargers at this site.  I would have been satisfied if, alongside Tesla, they had tentatively tried one or two of Kempower’s MCS units.

Kempower lowered its quarterly guidance for Q1 but kept its full-year 2024 guidance unchanged. We do not believe that the setback will have a significant impact on the value of the stock. As we wrote in our previous update, we see some uncertainty in the guidance for 2024 as a whole related to market developments and the ramp-up of deliveries from the two new plants. We believe that the company’s long-term competitiveness remains strong and that the likelihood of continued rapid growth in the coming years is high.
