Finnair is a Finnish airline. The company offers a wide range of destinations to and from Europe, and to a large part of the world's continents. The flights are mainly found around the Nordic countries, Europe and Asia. In addition to regular flights, long-haul flights are offered. Spring morning once again from Finnair  The April traffic figures have now been published. Positive development continued in terms of passenger numbers, load factor, and unit revenue  Geographically, growth was concentrated in Asia and Europe.

Antti and Kaisa have prepared a new company report on Finnair.  Finnair’s start to the year was very strong, especially driven by robust demand in Asian traffic. The company reiterated its guidance, and we made only minor negative adjustments to our 2026 forecasts, primarily reflecting cost pressures from increased fuel expenses. However, we believe that the share price already reflects the earnings improvement consistent with our forecasts, which is why, over a one-year horizon, the expected return remains below our required rate of return in our papers. Therefore, we reiterate our reduce recommendation for Finnair and our target price of 3.00 euros. Here is a company preview report on Finnair from Antti and Kaisa, ahead of its Q1 results next Wednesday.  We have raised our Finnair Q1 estimates following stronger-than-expected traffic data and estimate that the operating result has improved significantly from the comparison period. We expect Finnair to reiterate its guidance and achieve it despite cost pressures. In our view, however, the earnings improvement aligned with our forecasts is already priced into the stock, which is why the expected return on a one-year horizon remains below our required rate of return in our models. Consequently, we are making no changes to our view on Finnair ahead of the Q1 report. Here are Antti’s and Kaisa’s comments on Finnair’s March.  Finnair published its traffic report for March on Thursday. Overall, the report was stronger than our expectations, supported by robust growth in passenger volumes and an excellent passenger load factor. This strong development was partly bolstered by strong demand in Asian traffic, which we estimate has been affected by the escalating situation in the Middle East through a reduction in market capacity. However, the outlook is overshadowed by the Middle East conflict and the risks it brings to demand and fuel prices. Finnair will publish its Q1 results on April 22, and we will update our forecasts as needed before the results are released.
