BioMar released its H1 2026 interim report on 12 August 2026, its first as a listed company following the IPO on Nasdaq Copenhagen. On 13 August at 14:30 CEST, BioMar's CEO, Carlos Diaz, will present the results in a live online event, followed by a Q&A session where you can put your questions to management.
Alongside the report, BioMar upgraded its full-year guidance. Volumes are now expected at 1,630-1,700 thousand tonnes, up from 1,600-1,670 thousand tonnes, revenue at DKK 17.0-18.0 billion, up from DKK 16.0-17.0 billion, and EBIT at DKK 1,200-1,300m, up from DKK 1,100-1,200m. The CAPEX range was narrowed to DKK 400-500m from DKK 300-500m, reflecting good traction on the Ecuador capacity expansion. Management points to favourable biological farming conditions, contract wins and new customers in Salmon, and the ability to navigate raw material volatility through nutritional solutions carrying higher value in the current market.
In Q2 2026, feed volumes rose 3% year on year to a record 395,000 tonnes, and revenue grew 5% to DKK 4,164m. EBIT came in at DKK 250m, down 3%, with the margin at 6.0% against 6.5% last year, diluted by higher raw material prices passing through the top line. For the first half, volumes increased 5% to 710,000 tonnes, while revenue was flat at DKK 7,365m and EBIT declined 4% to DKK 359m. The three feed segments combined lifted EBIT by 10% year on year, with the group figure held back by DKK 23m of IPO costs and a negative earnings swing of DKK 34m in Tech Solutions. EBIT per tonne was DKK 647 in the quarter against DKK 645, and DKK 517 for the half year against DKK 519, illustrating stable value capture through a period of record-high marine raw material prices. ROIC including goodwill improved to 23.2% from 21.2%.
In addition to the results, focus is likely to centre on the drivers behind the upgraded guidance and on the market conditions BioMar expects in the second half of 2026.
